Chris Fatseas is an Australian fashion photographer whose editorial pieces more closely resemble stills from a movie. Inspired by the work of great cinematographers there’s always the sense of a story-line, and a certain realism to the processing of the images. He is defiant in his minimal use of Photoshop and isn’t moved by the nostalgia for film. It’s a style of photography that’s hard to pigeon-hole and really that’s the point. It’s as if a filter has been wiped off, and the viewer is being challenged to connect with the image on a deeper level.
