LAST DAZE, meet Gabriele:
"My name is Gabriele Manfrè, I am a 31-year-old freelance photographer from Padova, Italy. I don't make a living out of photography, but it has definitely been a big part of my life ever since I was a child. I started taking pictures with an old Zenit 122 my father took home from a Russian flee market when I was 16. When I had put enough savings together, I bought myself a crappy Minolta and started shooting mainly portraits and street photography. A few years later, I got my first paid job assignment without even knowing I was actually working that day: a good friend of mine -and mentor- had asked me to go with him at a wedding; he was supposed to be the photographer. I was there only to take a few secondary shots and learn whatever he could teach me, but as soon as we made it to the church it turned out he was the groom's best man and I had to make it on my own. I've freelanced as a sports photographer both during university and even when I got a full-time position (from 2007 to 2013), then left photography aside for a few years to concentrate on my primary job and recently-born kid. In mid 2014, I decided to get back to my photographic "origins", following my wife's advice, and focus primarily on personal projects of portrait, glamour, and editorial photography, which is what I've always liked best.
